William and Cheryl Roderique are the Webb City R-7 Foundation’s 2024 Distinguished Citizens.
Lisa Montgomery, foundation board president, said it was appropriate to select a couple because 20 years ago the first to receive the honor were another couple, Gail and Nola Anderson.
Will and Cheryl, 1987 graduates of Webb City High School, were introduced by their son, Scott Roderique, an assistant junior high principal. He said they are both known for their boundless generosity and commitment to serve.
He listed some of the numerous organizations they have served and led, including the 15 years they were co-chairs of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Turkey Dinner.
Cheryl is retired as a senior vice president at Arvest Bank, and Will still runs the CPA firm he started in 1996.
Scott noted that Will, who has served 31 years on the Webb City R-7 Board of Education, was elected to his first term “on the day I was born.”
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
