What’s in the name Webb City Christmas Parade? Additional emphasis on Webb City this year because for the first time it was actually a function of the city.
The city took over the parade when Project Graduation gave notice that it would no longer sponsor it. It was previously a Webb City Area Chamber of Commerce event.
Classic Christmas was the theme. There were a few changes, including a change in direction. It went north to south, instead of the traditional south to north.
Another change was that Santa rode in a buggy instead of on top of a fire engine.
It was good timing, being that it was on a relatively warm evening before a cold spell. So the street was full with onlookers.
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
