Cardinals are at home Thursday against Republic

The 13-5 Webb City girls will entertain the 14-3 Republic Tigers on Thursday following a disappointing 64-51 loss to undefeated Kickapoo Monday in the Cardinal Dome.

The Cardinals took a 15-7 first-quarter lead, but Kickapoo’s Chiefs dominated the second quarter 21-6 to take a 28-21 halftime lead. Webb City generally stayed within 8 and 10 points behind Kickapoo for the rest of the game.

Brecklynn Sargent and Abby Sargent both scored 13 for the Cardinals. Addie Burns added 10 points and had 8 rebounds.

The girls will play before the boys Tuesday at Carthage and again Friday at home against Willard.
