Farm tours and coupon books are two of the new promotions planned for the 25th season of the Webb City Farmers Market.
It’s true that the market is open all year long on Saturdays, but the 2025 season will officially start on Saturday, April 19. Choosing that opening date was one of the decisions made during the annual vendors meeting on March 1.
Vendors also decided the first Tuesday market will be held on April 22. Different from last year, the Tuesday markets will be open midday instead of the afternoon. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday markets will continue until mid-October.
Thursday markets will also be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. They will only be held the five Thursdays of July.
Roen Procter, market coordinator, is planning on leading six farm tours in conjunction with the Friends of Webb City Farmers Market as a fundraiser. A limited number of seats will be available for each tour at $25 apiece.
The first tour will be at the Braker Berry Farm on April 17. For details, follow the market’s Facebook page.
The other tours will be:
The coupon books will each contain 13 $5 coupons offered by venders hoping a good deal will acquaint them with more loyal customers.
Thirteen times $5 equals $65, but the books are a value at only $40. They are available for purchase online or at the market information booth.
There’s a $5 coupon in each book from:
Following an election on March 22, David Woodmansee, of DnD Smoked, has advanced from vice president to president of the board of directors.
Seven other board members are vendors:
Longtime vendor and board officer, Karen Scott, of Oak Woods Farm, is the market’s first board member emeritus.
Community members on the board are:
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
