First-game start, at Nixa Friday, delayed until 8 p.m. because of heat

Webb City’s season-opening game at Nixa Friday will start an hour later than usual to avoid the worst of the heat.

In fact, it’s expected that kickoff for all games in southwest Missouri will be at 8 p.m.

The fan gates won’t open until 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance online on the Nixa schools website.

Webb City tuned up for the season with a jamboree last week at Joplin. The Cardinals ran plays against Lamar and Seneca.
