Football season is upon us – jamboree Friday at Joplin

The 2023 football season is about to get underway.

At 7 p.m. Friday, Webb City will participate in a preseason jamboree at Joplin, running plays against Seneca and Lamar.

The first game of the season will be Friday, Aug. 25, at Nixa.

Something new this year will be a “tailgate” party prior to the first home game on Sept. 1 vs. Carl Junction.

The tailgater is replacing the annual pep rally with the hope that more fans will get to see the introduction of students in all sports and activities. 

This is Ryan McFarland’s first year as head coach of the Cardinals. 

The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
