Frances “Frankie” Peek Pyle was born in 1929 in a home in Webb City to Della and Samuel “Gus” Peek. She has lived here her entire life. One of three siblings, her brothers were Bobby Lee and Sam Peek. She attended Webb City schools and graduated in 1948.
After graduation, she was employed by Southwestern Bell, which was located in the current Webb City Police Department. She was one of the familiar local operators you heard when you wanted to make a telephone call. She retired as registrar at Parkwood High School after 25 years.
She is a current member of P.E.O. Chapter AY.
Central United Methodist has been a cornerstone in her life, providing her with many wonderful memories. She is the longest living member of the church, with nearly 80 years.
Frances married Paul Pyle on June 21, 1953, and they were together for 44 years before his passing. She has two children, Paula Pyle Moore and Kevin Pyle; a son-in-law, Mike Moore; and Shaley Michelle Moore, of Lee’s Summit, her only grandchild.

It began Christmas Eve, 66 years ago, when Joe Grisham Sr, and Jeane Morris were married in the home of his parents in Webb City.
Born of this union were four children, Joe Grisham Jr., Lori Morrison, Douglas and Mindi Phillips; six grandchildren, Matt, Caleb and Jacob Morrison, Luke and Tyler Phillips and Conner Grisham.
After being away for some time, Joe and Jeane have moved back home where it began.
ADK Upsilon met on Dec. 16 at Central United Methodist Church in Webb City.
Hostesses were Janis Jackson, Carolyn Clark and Cathy Eichelberger. Sarah Llanes led the meeting with 15 members present.
We enjoyed listening to Carol Woodward play music on the harp. Members did an ornament exchange while enjoying the salads and desserts.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, Jan. 20 at Central United Methodist Church. Members will be bringing items to bake a birthday cake. These items will be donated to Ronald McDonald House and Washington Family Hope Center.
Hostesses will be Sarah Llanes, Tina Wilson and Annette Elam.
