Sam Cooper received the annual Golden Dishrag Trophy Tuesday during the Webb City Farmers Market Harvest Dinner at the main pavilion in King Jack Park.

Market manager Roen Procter said Cooper can be counted on to show up way ahead of time on every market day and stay until everything is put away. She said he has logged 200 volunteer hours this year.

After the opening bell, Cooper is seen by customers behind the Stormy Farms vendor table in his trademark red-check shirt. He is also a member of the market’s board of directors.

The harvest dinner is a social affair for vendors, volunteers and their families. Although the harvest is known to be done this time of year, the market vendors continue to bring produce to the market each Saturday morning (9 a.m. – noon) all year long.
