Webb City girl’s golf wrapped up their season this past week with the conference and district tournaments.
On Wednesday, freshmen Josie Tupper, sophomores Kenzi Reavis and Lilly Reavis and juniors Marlee Jacks and Violet Haut represented Webb City in Class 4 district play at the Payne Stewart course in Springfield.
Coach Jason Brown notes this is the first year the Cardinals have moved up in competition to Class 4.
Haut finished in seventh place overall with a score of 81. She will return to state play for the third consecutive year.
The MSHSAA Class 4 State Girl’s Golf Championships will be played Oct. 19 and 20 at the Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield.
On Monday, the team competed in the Central Ozark Conference tournament at Schifferdecker Golf Course in Joplin.
The Lady Cardinals finished fourth as a team in the COC West division. Haut finished with an 81 for second place in the entire COC.
Brown said, “I am very proud of the dedication to the game of all my girls and how they have conducted themselves on the course even in times of dismay. They have all lowered their scores a great deal from the start of the season and are all looking forward to returning next year with experience and a desire to compete for some team trophies.”
