The Webb City boys golf team won third in the district tournament Monday and is headed to the state tournament.
Webb City’s team score was 317 at the Class 4 Disttrict 3 tournament at Briarbrook. Carl Junction took first with 299, and Rolla was second with 306.
The top three for Webb City Levi Lassiter (76), Jackson Lucas (77) and Cooper Forth (80), earned all-district honors.
Braden McKee shot an 84. Other team members were Nathan Jacks and Carson Judd. Jackson Boyer coaches the team.
The Class 4 state tournament will be held Monday and Tuesday, May 13-14, at Cape Girardeau.
The Webb City track teams will compete Saturday in the Class 4 District 6 meet at Nixa.
On Thursday, May 2, the boys took second place behind Nixa in the Central Ozark Conference meet at Joplin. The girls took fourth place.
Webb City grabbed a share of the Central Ozark Conference title here Thursday by defeating fellow title holder Willard 3-1.
Luke Beverlin pitched a complete game for the Cardinals, holding the Tigers scoreless until the sixth inning.
Shaun Hunt drove in one of the Cardinals’ two runs during the first inning with a double and scored on Hunter Shull’s single.
Shadrach Salazar answered Willard’s sixth-inning score with a home run.
The 21-7 Cardinals entertain Parkview Thursday.
Belton is the site of the district tournament. Webb City is seeded first and will play at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, against Grandview.
