The Webb City High School Winterguard and Winter Winds both took first place in the Scholastic Regional A class Saturday at the Mid-Continent Color Guard Association Festival at Missouri State University!
The guard finished nearly a full five points ahead of the second-place finisher, and improved their score by just over 20 points from the last contest. “Outstanding!” says band director Butch Owens.
“All of their hard work has paid off, and we are very proud of all of them!” says Owens.
The winterguard is under the direction of Erica Baldwin, and the winds are under the direction of Jonathan Rohr.
The Webb City Junior High Winterguard received the superior rating Saturday in the Scholastic Cadet class at the Mid-Continent Color Guard Association Festival at Missouri State University.
The Scholastic Cadet class is designed for junior high and middle school guards to learn fundamental skills and techniques in a non-competitive, relaxed environment. Guards do not compete against one another, rather they earn a rating on their performance of good, excellent, or superior.
The WCJHS Winterguard is under the direction of Erica Baldwin and recent WCHS graduate Emilea Stettes.
