The city’s Old Urban Trolley toured downtown Saturday morning as riders learned about historic buildings.

Guided historic tour was a hit

The Webb City Historical Society’s idea to guide a tour of historic buildings was a well-accepted one.

A brief sampling of those who went on the ride said they learned many new facts about buildings that are still here and those that aren’t.

The society received a Missouri Humanities Grant to publish a booklet about the historic buildings. Copies of it are available for free at the Webb City Chamber Office in the Route 66 Information Center at Broadway and Webb Street.

Sharon and Terry Nations and Billy Conroy ride the trolley on its second go round, which was made necessary because the first was filled up. They’re holding copies of the new historic booklet featuring downtown buildings.
