The Webb City High School Scholar Bowl team won the Central Ozark Conference scholar bowl tournament Thursday at Willard.
Actually, both the varsity and junior varsity teams took first place. In varsity individual scoring, Andreas Kulju took second and Carter Slinker took third (by way of a sudden death tie breaker). Dean Elrod took second in scoring at the junior varsity level.
In a note to fellow high school teachers, social studies teacher and scholar bowl coach Dustin Craft said he has the pleasure of coaching and hanging out with the scholar bowl students. “However, your work in your classroom helped my team’s success. Thank you for pouring into Webb City students. I see it, and I hear about it. I know I work with the best people. Thank you, my esteemed colleagues.”
Up next, the team will compete in the MSHSAA scholar bowl districts on April 18 at Republic.
