The Webb City Cardinals will be entertaining the Neosho Wildcats for homecoming Friday.
Webb City, 1-3 after the Cardinals’ 20-14 home loss to Ozark last week, are apparently facing a tougher than usual challenge from Neosho, which is 4-0.
Mason Williams, in the role of running back as well as defensive back against Ozark, ran 53 yards for the Cardinals’ first touchdown in the second quarter.
Trailing 20-7 with 3:56 left in the game, Brody Eggleston gave new life to the Cardinals by blocking Ozark’s field goal attempt. Andrew Young picked up the ball and ran 81 yards for a touchdown. 20-14
However, the Cardinals stalled on their remaining possession as time ran out.
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
