Webb City’s 12-year-old Little League team is now in the Indianapolis, Ind., area competing in a regional tournament. If they win, the Missouri state champs will go straight to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Penn.
Their first game in the Midwest Region bracket will be at noon Friday against Wisconsin.

The Joplin Humane Society will hold its summer vaccine clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Friday.
Fees range from $10 for rabies shots to $25 for microchips.
Joplin Public Library is welcoming Sean Fitzgibbon, originally from Webb City, for a presentation about his graphic novel “What Follows is True: Crescent Hotel” at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Fitzgibbon will also be signing copies of his book, which reveals how a quack doctor cheated cancer patients at the hotel in Eureka Springs, Ark.
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
