OBITUARY

Jim Moore

July 10, 1954 – Aug. 28, 2023

Mr. James Leroy “Jim” Moore, 69, of Carthage, departed this life on Monday morning, Aug. 28, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, after months of declining health.

Jim entered this life on July 10, 1954, in Carthage, son of the late Ivan Samuel and Leona Lea (Broadwater) Moore. He was a lifelong area resident of Carthage and a 1972 graduate of Carthage High School. He furthered his education by attending Franklin Tech in Joplin.

On June 9, 1978, he was united in marriage to Connie Alumbaugh, and together they have shared the last 45 years. He worked at Big Smith in Carthage for over 20 years, seven years for the Joplin Globe and the last 10 years for Leggett & Platt. He attended worship services at Evangel Assembly of God in Carthage. He enjoyed watching TV and playing games on his computer.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Chris Moore, Ivan Moore Jr. and Tommy Moore; and one sister, Emma Lakes.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Moore, of the home; two sisters, Peggy Alexander, state of Texas, and Teresa Millard, Joplin; and a host of other family and friends.

Graveside services were held Friday, Sept. 1, 2023, at Friends Cemetery in Purcell. Arrangements were under the direction of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home.
