OBITUARY

Jeri Moore

March 14, 1958 – April 26, 2026

Jeri Lynne Moore was born on Friday, March 14, 1958, in Olathe, Kan., to Ervin Cleo Moore and Alice Marie (Brothers) Moore, the youngest of three siblings.

Jeri lived in Alamosa, Colo., Buhler, Kan., and after 1965 in Argonia, Kan. She was active in vocal and band and was selected among hundreds of top high school musicians to participate in the Kansas All State Lions Club Band.

She graduated from Argonia High School in 1976. Here’s the impressive part, from 1977 to June 2003, she was a lab tech, lab supervisor, an area manager for Via Christi Medical, and administrator for a family practice and occupational medicine group of doctors in Wichita. She ran her own clinic, HMA Medworks, from 2003 through 2015. She earned her crown in heaven for her patient, loving and compassionate care for her mother, who was suffering from many, many issues, from diabetes, including dialysis three times a week, blindness, and the inability to process food. All the while, she was working full-time and pursuing a degree from 1981 to 1995. She graduated from Wichita State University with a BSHA degree in health care administration and gerontology.

Jeri is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Paula Moore, of Webb City; niece Shaley and her fiancé Blake Clary, of Lee’s Summit; sister and brother-in-law, Raydene and Larry Plane, of Pueblo, Colo.; a special friend, Geoge Looker, of San Diego, Calif.; her fur baby, Jack, of the home; and a host of cousins, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by both parents; her brother EC and wife Sally, Bisbee, Ariz.; maternal and paternal grandparents; all aunts and uncles and her companions through the years, Mandy, Misty, MacKenzie and Maggie.

Through it all, Jeri was always a cheerful and loving granddaughter, daughter, sister, and aunt.

Her life took a turn in 2017 when she was diagnosed with a fatal interstitial lung disease. We’re grateful to Dr. Mark Hamblin, director of the ILD and Rare Lung Disease Program at Kansas University, for giving her extended life through his efforts. She was a fighter… to the very end. On June 20, 2025, she was rushed to the hospital with complications. She was confined to bed from that day forward. She never gave up. Her goal was to go home, to breathe again, to walk again, to have no more pain. She’s reached that goal. She is now home, sitting at the right hand of her Savior, Jesus Christ and soaring higher than she could have ever imagined.

A funeral service for Jeri will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at Central United Methodist Church, preceded by visitation beginning at noon. Arrangements are under the direction of Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Central United Methodist Church.
