Kenzie Storm, known in Webb City High School for excelling in academics, playing volleyball and swimming, and as a homecoming queen, was recruited to Kansas State University for a whole new thing – rowing.
Kenzie was on the Kansas State varsity rowing team for her three years as a Wildcat and has graduated with a degree in personal financial planning. She decided to forgo her final year of eligibility and accepted a position with Fovis Mazars Financial Firm in Springfield.
During Kenzie’s rowing career she demonstrated grit and toughness. Although tearing her labrum as a sophomore a week before the start of the spring racing season, she still pushed forward and continued with racing competitions until the conclusion of the racing season. Three days after the Big 12 Championships, Kenzie had surgery to repair the torn labrum. After months of physical therapy and rehab, Kenzie returned for the 2024-2025 racing season.
During her final racing season, her boat was named the Big 12 Boat of the Week and earned a silver medal in the Big 12 Championships at Sarasota, Fla.
Just last month, Kenzie was one of six athletes from the entire Kansas State Athletic Program to receive the 2025 Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award from the Big 12 Conference.
During each of her three years, she made the Academic All-Big 12 Team.
K-State has a list of her multiple rowing accomplishments.
Kenzie’s parents are Dustin and Julie Storm. She has two sisters, Sydnie and Allie.
