Linda Sloniker displays a retirement gift she received from Andy Perigo, Mid-Missouri Bank’s community bank manager.

Mid-Missouri Bank held a party Friday for one of its longest – if not the longest – serving Webb City employee.

After 43 years, Linda Sloniker said goodbye to her customers and current and former coworkers who came by for some cake and to wish her well.

Linda began her banking career with Mid-Missouri Bank’s predecessor here, Webb City Bank. Her first position was downtown encoding checks in the proof department. Machines do that function now.

She moved up to teller, and at one point she was branch manager of the Madison branch, which has been replaced by the new main bank at 1421 S. Madison St. She has been the downtown motor bank manager for the past eight years.

Linda says she is eager to travel, but she’s a little nervous about retiring because “this is all I’ve ever known.”
