The Webb City 11-12 Little League All Stars’ days of appearing on ESPN are over for this season.
The Missouri champions won their first game at the Midwest Region Tournament in Indiana but were eliminated after losing their next two games.
They initially advanced in the 12-team bracket as they defeated Kansas (Pittsburg) 6-0 on Friday. On Saturday, they lost 2-0 to South Dakota. Then Nebraska defeated them 13-3 on Monday.
South Dakota and Nebraska are facing off Thursday for the chance to play North Dakota in the final on Friday. The winner will go to the World Series.
Parents and community backers are of course proud that the All Stars made it as far as they did. Here’s the team’s message on Facebook:
Webb City 12U All Stars – We’re So Proud!
Tough loss today against Nebraska, but these boys left it all on the field. They’ve worked hard, played with heart, and made Webb City proud every step of the way.
From early practices to big wins and everything in between, this team showed grit, growth, and true sportsmanship. What a season — one we’ll never forget!
Thank you to the coaches, parents, and fans who supported them every inning. This is just the beginning for these young athletes! You make Webb city proud!!
