Little Leaguers await first game in Midwest Tourney

The Webb City Little League 12-year-old All Stars have conquered the state and are now in Whitestown, Ind., awaiting their first game in the Midwest Region Tournament.

Missouri (Webb City) will play South Dakota (Sioux Falls) at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5.

Elks Club and SMB help pay for new veterans hall

 

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Monday for the new American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars building at 900 N. Main St. 
The Webb City Elks Lodge and Southwest Missouri Bank followed the ribbon-cutting by presenting big checks. 

Sky Kings’ summer fun-fly

9 a.m. – sunset Saturday

The Sky Kings R/C Club’s summer fun-fly and swap meet will be held from 9 a.m. to sunset Saturday, Aug. 6, at the club’s airfield.

Spectators are invited to attend for free. Hats and lawn chairs are recommended. Lunch will be available for purchase.

The Sky Kings airfield is just west of Carterville on Sharon Drive.
