Cities without a state are in Missouri
Aug. 24, 1963 – Aug. 28, 2025
Lovingly written by family
Michael (Mike) Wayne Cloven, beloved husband, father, brother, poppy, and friend, passed away on Aug. 28, 2025, just a few days after his 62nd birthday. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and a life lived to the fullest.
Born in Joplin on Aug. 24, 1963, and raised in Webb City, Michael’s childhood was filled with adventures alongside his best friend and sister, Tammy Cloven. The two were inseparable, making memories that would last a lifetime.
Michael eventually met the love of his life, Angela, in Oklahoma City. Their love was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. He brought her back to Missouri, a place he affectionately called “God’s Country,” where they built a wonderful life together after marrying on Dec. 3, 1984. Angela was his best friend and his favorite person to go on adventures with.
Michael was a man of countless passions and hobbies, from fishing and hunting to flying drones. He had a passion for racing and spent many of his son Dalton’s childhood days at the track, building cars and making memories.
Michael and Dalton were two peas in a pod, sharing not only a striking resemblance but also a deep love for fishing. Michael taught Dalton everything he knew, and Dalton is the man he is today because of his dad.
Later in life, Michael’s favorite title became “Poppy.” For the last six years, he made a tremendous impact on his grandson, Bennett. Their adventures were legendary. They spent their time fishing, flying drones and going on golf cart rides, creating a bond that was truly special.
He also loved taking drives with Angela to look for wildlife. It wasn’t unusual for Mike to wake Angela up in the wee hours of the morning to go on an adventure.
Michael was a caring soul and dedicated employee in the transportation department at Freeman Hospital. He went above and beyond for the nurses and employees who rode with him. He’d arrive early everyday to clean his bus, ensuring it was always in pristine condition for his passengers.
He will be deeply missed by his family, including his wife, Angela; his son, Dalton, and daughter-in-law Ashley; his grandson, Bennett; his sister, Tammy Cloven; his nephews, Michael Pope and Travis Foote and his wife Stephanie; his stepmother, Mary Cloven; his sister-in-law, Robin Moon and her husband Michael; his nieces Jinera Moon and Brynna Moon; a large extended family; and some of his most favorite beings, his beloved dogs, Smurf, Gemma Teller, Bella Jo and Sadie Mae; and his granddogs Nash and Moose.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Michael Cloven; his mother, Carolyn Sue Meyer; and his cousin, Terry Copple and wife Rhonda.
Michael’s absence will be felt by everyone who was lucky enough to know him. Anyone who did was better for it. His kindness, warmth and zest for life will be cherished forever.

April 28, 1952 – Aug. 24, 2025
Joseph Allen McCartney was a devoted family man and passionate country music lover who left an indelible mark on those who knew him. Born on April 28, 1952, in Denver, Colo., Joe spent his life surrounded by loved ones. He was the baby of seven, preceded in death by his parents and siblings, as well as his son, Jim McCartney.
Joe is survived by his son, Joseph R McCartney, and his fiancee, Sharon Deadmond, of Webb City, and his son Christopher Baker, a soldier currently stationed in South Korea. He is also survived by his daughters, Crystal McCartney, and her wife, Deborah McCartney, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Crystal Head, and her fiance, Rab, of Oklahoma City.
Joe was a devoted grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, loved by his family for his kindness and generosity. Joe’s family was his rock, and he cherished every moment with them.
A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Joe served his country with honor. After raising his children in Stephenville, Texas, where he worked as a dairy farmer, Joe lived with his daughter, Crystal McCartney, in Fort Worth for six years. He later relocated to Webb City to live with his son, Joseph. In his free time, Joe enjoyed fishing, dressing up in his cowboy hat and country attire, and watching old Westerns, particularly those starring John Wayne. He was also an avid fan of the Eagles and old-time country music.
In his final days, Joe was surrounded by his loving family, to whom he was able to say goodbye. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on Aug. 24, 2025, at the age of 73, due to cancer. Joe will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his beloved dog, Dippy, his loyal companion.
A celebration of Joe’s life will be held in Texas on Sept. 7, 2025. For more information on the services, email dedmac0716@gmail.com. The McCartney family would like to thank everyone for their support during this difficult time.
