Eight Cardinals make their college choices

Eight Webb City senior athletes were showcased Wednesday, Feb. 3, on National Signing Day in the Cardinal Dome.

Signing letters of intent were:

  • Brianna Batson, softball, Neosho County Community College
  • Luke Brumit, track and field, Missouri Southern State University
  • Haidyn Berry, softball, Central Missouri State University
  • Gary Clinton, football, Missouri State University
  • Grant Goltra, football, Pittsburg State University
  • Alyssa Jennings, softball, Crowder College
  • Kassidy Perkins, cheerleading, Ottawa University
  • Jaystin Smith, football, Missouri Southern State University

Webb City’s conference matchups at Carl Junction that had been scheduled for Tuesday have been postponed until Saturday.

The Cardinals will return to the Cardinal Dome Tuesday for boys and girls games against Neosho.

The girls will play at home Thursday against Republic.

Winter homecoming will be Friday night, as the boys teams take on Republic.

The regular seasons will end with the boys at Carthage on Tuesday, Feb. 23, and the girls at home on Thursday, Feb. 25.

The girls handily defeated Branson at home Friday 63-35, improving their record to 7-10 overall and 2-2 in the Central Ozark Conference. Jason Peake has a detailed story at SOMO Sports.
