Joplin Association for the Blind fundraiser

11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 4 – 7 p.m. Thursday, April 13

The Joplin Association for the Blind is cooking up spaghetti red and veggie soup for its fundraiser Thursday, April 13.

There will also be a silent auction and 50/50 drawing.

Serving will be in two sessions, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for kids.

Desserts will be available, along with pecan halves, pecan pieces, chocolate covered pecans and English walnuts.

The event will be held at the Joplin Association for the Blind and Low Vision Enhancement Center, at Fourth Street and Schifferdecker Avenue.

Tootsie Roll Drive raises $867 for Community Support Services

The Knights of Columbus Don Roderique Council 7307 presented a check for $867 to Community Support Services of Missouri at their facility in Joplin on Wednesday, March 29. 

The funds were collected during the 2022 Campaign for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, the Tootsie Roll Drive.

CSSMO helps young people in southwestern Missouri communities with developmental and behavioral challenges.

A total of $3,468 was raised during the drive. Half of the funds are allocated to local organizations that provide intellectual disability services and the other half are used for state council activities such as the Missouri Special Olympics.
