A seat on the Oronogo Board of Aldermen has opened up.
On Monday, the board accepted the resignation of Jason Guild (2nd Ward), effective March 7. There is one year left on his current term.
Guild gave no reason in his resignation letter. He wrote, “It has been a privilege to work alongside dedicated individuals committed to improving the quality of life in our city.”
Guild and fellow 2nd Ward board member Michael Renberg were both elected as write-in candidates in 2023. Renberg received one vote for the full two-year seat that was open, and Guild received two votes to finish the final year of an unexpired term. Guild was reelected in 2024.
Renberg is unopposed on the April 8 ballot for a second term.
Mayor Charles Wilkins could appoint someone to replace Guild or leave the seat vacant until the next election in April 2026.
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
