Webb City doesn’t hold a July Fourth celebration, but it’s patriotism was waving with two new programs.
The American Legion and VFW posts had banners hung on the both ends of downtown on Main Street, along with flags on streetlights in tribute to Webb City first responders.
Webb City-Carl Junction Rotary displayed 50 flags at the entrance to King Jack Park. More than 30 of those honor someone (usually veterans) or a business. It costs $50 per flag. This is the first year for the program. The flags are displayed on Memorial Day, July 4th and Veterans Day. For more information, call (417) 649-8846 or (417) 553-7541.
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
