In addition to Webb City’s fireworks display on Friday night, you can celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday tonight (Thursday) by watching James Cagney in “Yankee Doodle Dandy” and a live song-and-dance patriotic tribute at the Route 66 Movie Theater.

Admission is free.

The Pinocchio Patriotic Pre-show will start at 6 p.m. Dance numbers include “Grand Old Flag,” Yankee Doodle,” “Yankee Doodle Dandy” and “Party in the U.S.A.”

Four songs will also be included: “The House I Live In (What Is America to Me),” “America the Beautiful,” “God Bless America” and “Tomorrow.”

At 6:30 p.m., the 1942 movie “Yankee Doodle Dandy” starring James Cagney will be shown. It is a biographical musical drama about George M. Cohan, known as “The Man Who Owned Broadway.”
