Tickets (just $2 per person) for the Polar Bear Express will go on sale online at 9 a.m. Saturday, with those alotted tickets expected to sell out fast.
Some tickets will be withheld for those who wish to purchase in person. The time for that will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at the Mining Days Community Center in King Jack Park.
There will be two sessions of rides to choose from each night, from 5:30 to 7:20 or 7:30 to 9:30.
Streetcar No. 60 will become the Polar Bear Express three weekends (Thursday – Saturday): Dec. 5 – 7, Dec. 12 – 14 and Dec. 19 – 21.
Riders will be assigned a train number when everyone in the party checks in at the pavilion. While waiting for their assigned train to leave the station, guests may enjoy a visit with Santa, watch “The Polar Express” (sponsored by the Route 66 Movie Theater), take part in other free activities within the pavilion and purchase items from the concession stand.
Proceeds from the event go toward improving the Christmas lighting display in King Jack Park.
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
