July 14, 2021

Friday, June 25

21:18 – I was northbound on Main Street at Third Street when I observed a male walking in the northbound lane attempting to flag down a vehicle to get a ride. I activated my emergency lights and stopped the male for walking in the roadway when a sidewalk was provided. The 30-year-old male was cited and released for drinking where prohibited and walking on the road where a sidewalk was provided.

Monday, June 28

00:12 – I was dispatched to 430 W. Seventh St. for a trespass in progress. A 39-year-old was arrested for trespassing.

Tuesday, June 29

17:31 – I was contacted by a motorist who reported finding two wallets in the street near Madison and 14th streets.

Thursday, July 1

17:38 – Officers were dispatched to 629 E. Rudondo Drive for a domestic in progress. Officers arrived and observed a physical domestic in progress in the park. One female was arrested and transported to jail.

Friday, July 2

21:49 – Officers were dispatched to 1100-9 W. Crow St. for a suspicious person. An unknown male was outside the caller’s residence and had started a fire in the trash can and was yelling at the residence.

Sunday, July 4

Fire Chief Andrew Roughton reports three calls involving fireworks. Two were rubbish fires. The third was in the back of a pickup. All were caused by fireworks discarded after they were shot off. There were no injury calls.

00:17 – An officer conducted a traffic stop at Fountain Road and Madison Street. One adult male was charged with unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

01:45 – An officer stopped to check on an individual walking in the ditch with no shoes on at Oronogo and 10th streets. The 32-year-old female was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and had a Jasper County warrant.

09:30 – I took a report of theft from a dark gray 2018 Jeep Wrangler parked at 825 N. Hall St. during the overnight hours. The owner reported several items, including his wallet, money, jewelry, and personal information taken from his unsecured Jeep while parked with the doors removed at his residence.

12:00 – I took a report of a found wallet. The wallet had been turned into dispatch and no other information as to where it was found or found it was available.

15:49 – I was contacted at WCPD in reference to a burglary at 1101 N. Main St.

01:42 – An officer was dispatched to 66 Sports Bar and Restaurant in reference to a theft from a motor vehicle.

22:35 – Officers responded to 610 N. Ash St. in reference to a vehicle fire. 

19:10 – I was contacted at WCPD for a past-tense theft at 118 S. Hall St.

22:59 – An officer was dispatched to the 1700 block of Redwood Drive in reference to a sexual misconduct incident that occurred at in the 1100 of W Crow St.

Monday, July 5

03:46 – Officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of W. Broadway Street regarding a missing child. The child was located and an adult female was arrested for felony endangerment of the welfare of a child. Charges were sent to the Jasper County Prosecutor’s Office.

09:38 – I received a call for service at 315 N. Oronogo St. in reference to a theft from motor vehicle.

10:33 – I received a call for service at 621 S. Centennial in reference to found property.

13:47 – A female entered the WCPD lobby to report the theft of her 2006 Chrysler Town and County van stolen from 701-B S. Walker St. while she was away. A male subject is being held in another state for driving while intoxicated and felony property damage while in possession of the van.

00:20 – I was dispatched to 1129 N. Pennsylvania St. for a fireworks and littering complaint.

Tuesday, July 6

17:02 – I was dispatched to 2573 N. Range Line for a subject using a stolen debit card. The subject was taken into custody.

20:40 – I was dispatched to Prairie Flower Road at Kent Street for a roll-over crash. A side-by-side UTV had rolled over at the location. The male driver fled the scene just prior to officers arriving on scene. The UTV was reported stolen on the next day from a residence in Jasper County.

16:00 – I was dispatched to 925 S. Hall St. for a past-tense property damage.

Wednesday, July 7

19:02 – I was dispatched to 518 S. Walker St. for a dog at large. The dog owner was cited and also taken into custody for an outstanding Carl Junction warrant.

14:51 – Officers were dispatched to 324 N. Tom St. Apt. 204 in reference to a civil dispute. A 26-year-old male was cited and arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, and a warrant out of Jasper County.

20:48 – Officers were dispatched to 715 W. Fourth St. for a disturbance. A 32-year-old woman was cited for assault.

03:15 – Officers were dispatched to a report of an intoxicated driver. Upon officers arriving in the area the vehicle was located leaving the area and a traffic stop was conducted at Zora and Hall streets. One adult male was arrested for driving while intoxicated and domestic assault.

21:18 – I was dispatched to Madison Street at 13th Street for a hit-and-run accident. The suspect vehicle had hit a pedestrian and bicycle, then left the scene.

Thursday, July 8

06:51 – A report was created for a stolen motorcycle from the business of Amcor (3210 N. Progress).

00:19 – I was dispatched to 303 E. Third Str., Joplin, MO, in reference a warrant arrest. As a result, one adult male was taken into custody.

11:04 – I was dispatched to Del Rio Restaurant in reference to an attempted burglary that resulted in property damage to a door attached to the building. No entry was gained.

07:57 – An officer was dispatched to 1208 S. Madison St. in reference to some individuals not paying for their food.

22:14 – Officers were dispatched to 13th and Madison in reference to a two-vehicle crash.

Friday, July 9
11:08 – An officer was dispatched to the area of 610 S. Oakland St. in reference to a two-vehicle, non-injury, motor vehicle crash.

13:36 – The reporting party contacted WCPD in person to report his adult daughter missing. After making the incident report, the reporting party called back to state they had located the missing person.

17:09 – I was dispatched to Walmart in reference to flourishing of a weapon. One adult male was charged with unlawful use of a weapon.

22:57 – Officers were dispatched to of Kum and Go, 411 S. Madison St. in reference to a check well being. A 49-year-old was arrested for active warrants.

Saturday, July 10

09:00 – I received a call for service at 101 S. Liberty St. in reference to a found item.

10:55 – I was dispatched to 123 S. Hall St. in reference a stolen motor scooter.

13:37 – I received a call for service at 2301 N. Range Line in reference of threats to do harm.

13:43 – I received a call for service at Seventh and College streets in reference to a found item.
