10:47 – A female entered the WCPD lobby and reported a violation of an adult ex-parte via any medium-phone. The report will be sent to the county prosecutor’s fffice for a warrant.
Monday, March 15
20:21 – I was contacted at WCPD about a past-tense harassment that occurred at 430 Rudondo Drive.
Tuesday, March 16
17:28 – While on routine patrol I conducted a traffic stop on Madison Street near MacArthur Drive. The male driver was taken into custody for outstanding warrant’s.
Thursday, March 18
18:15 – I was dispatched to 414 Rudondo Drive for a theft. The caller reported someone had stolen her purse from her vehicle.
14:43 – An officer was dispatched to 908 W. Daugherty St. in reference to a theft of stolen checks.
Friday, March 19
18:04 – Officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on South Madison Street near the intersection of Seventh Street involving two vehicles with minor damage and no reported injuries.
Saturday, March 20
08:09 – I was dispatched to the area of Jillian and Megan Lane for a motor vehicle crash.
18:00 A silver passenger car was observed by officers to have left a residence where a male subject with several felony warrants was staying. The vehicle was observed to be at Casey’s, 337 S. Main St., and a male subject had exited the vehicle and entered the store. Officers contacted the male and identified him to not be the male they were looking for but to also have several municipal warrants, and he was taken into custody.
Sunday, March 21
13:55 – A male with five active Webb City warrants was brought to WCPD by a Carl Junction officer. The male was placed into the holding room and held until the municipal Court Judge requested his presence in court.
18:55 – An officer was dispatched to 818 Horseshoe Drive for a report of stolen property. An adult male was cited for stealing.
20:21 – An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that had reportedly been driver by a possible intoxicated driver. One adult male was arrested for driving while intoxicated and was also issued a citation for no insurance and improper display of plates.
06:40 – I was dispatched to 411 W. Fourth St. in reference a domestic. One adult male was charged.
Monday, March 22
14:43 – I was dispatched to 613 S. Oakland St. for a disturbance. The caller reported she and her son were involved in a verbal altercation.
19:04 – I took a report over the phone reference fraud that occured on March 19 at Walmart. The victim reported that her checkbook was stolen from another jurisdiction and that a check was fraudulently used in Webb City.
Tuesday, March 23
10:44 – I was contacted at WCPD in reference to stolen license plates at 1114 Elm Court.
19:47 – I was dispatched to the area of Fourth and Madison streets for a possible stolen vehicle. The owner reported he was following a vehicle taken by a family member. I located the vehicle and initiated a pursuit. The driver abandoned the vehicle in the 800 block of Horseshoe Drive, where the passenger was detained and questioned. The driver is still outstanding.
17:24 – I was dispatched to the area of Madison Street and MacArthur Drive for a two-vehicle, non-injury crash.
17:14 – I was dispatched to Tracy and Walker streets for a male sitting in the roadway. I made contact and later took the male into custody for an outstanding warrant.
Wednesday, March 24
I was dispatched to MacArthur Drive and Ellis Street for a past-tense motor vehicle accident.
17:14 – Officers took a walk-in report at WCPD for a stolen or lost purse. It was belived to have been lost at City Pointe strip mall.
Thursday, March 25
17:11 – Officers were diaptched to Walmart reference shoplifting. The suspect fled on foot and is still sought.
12:25 – I was dispatched to Kum & Go, 411 S. Madison St., for suspicious activity. A 44-year-old male and a 29-year-old female were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
06:16 – Officers attempted to stop a motor vehicle for traffic violations. The vehicle failed to yield, but did not flee. The vehicle came to a stop a short time later and one subject was taken into custody.
16:06 – When a male subject came into the police department, it was discovered that he had a local warrant, and he was taken into custody. It was discovered that a clerical error had left the warrant entered and that the warrant was no longer active. The subject was released.
21:20 – Officers on routine patrol observed a subject getting into a vehicle in a parking lot near Tom and Galena streets. The subject saw the officers’ patrol car and took off running. An officer took chase and stopped the subject in the alley north of Galena Street and east of Walker Stteet. The subject advised he was under the influence of meth and had not slept in four days and was breaking into the vehicle to sleep. Meth and paraphernalia were located on the subject, who gave a false name when asked to identify himself. He was taken into custody and booked into the Jasper County Jail on several outstanding warrants and new charges.
Friday, March 26
09:22 – An officer conducted a traffic stop at Main Street and Broadway for an expired license plate. The 67-year-old male driver was cited for failure to register a motor vehicle, failure to show valid proof of insurance, and he was arrested for a Joplin City warrant.
15:16 – An officer was dispatched to Walmart in reference to a past-tense shoplifting. Information was obtained and charges will be sent to the municipal prosecutor on a 37-year-old female for shoplifting and trespassing.
Saturday, March 27
13:23 – An individual brought a wallet into WCPD stating they had found it in the Walmart parking lot. Attempts were made to contact the owner, but they never showed so it will be placed it evidence until the owner arrives to claim it.
19:12 – I was dispatched to WCPD in reference to packages that were not delivered.
02:53 – Officers contacted a male subject asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle on near the vacuums on the property of Hurricane Car Wash. It was discovered the 22-year-old male was in possession of heroin/fentanyl and was subsequently arrested. A charge for felony possession of a controlled substance was referred to the county prosecutor’s office.
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
