R-7 School Board candidates invited to appear at public forum Monday
A public forum to meet the four Webb City R-7 School Board candidates will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, March 29, in the Ronald R. Barton Performing Arts Center.
There are four candidates for two open seats on the April 6 ballot. Listed in ballot order, they are: Lisa (Hartman) Robinson, Jason Woodmansee, Grant T. Collings and Gretchen Shull. Robinson and Woodmansee are incumbents.
The legislative committee of Webb City Community Teachers Association is hosting the event. It will be the second such forum. The first was in 2019, which is the last time a school board election was held. That was when a four-way race developed when Kevin Crane resigned. Stephen Crane was elected to succeed his brother, and Dan McGrew was re-elected. No election was held last year because the three incumbents, David Collard, Jeanne Newby and William Roderique, ran unopposed.
Linda Uselmann, WCCTA president and high school social studies teacher, says district patrons will have an opportunity to learn about the school board’s role, listen to candidate introductions, and participate in a short community-led question-and-answer session.
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
