OBITUARY

Rebecca Frey

Aug. 1, 1960 – April 14, 2025

With heavy hearts and fond memories, we announce the passing of a charismatic and courageous woman, Rebecca Lynn Frey. Known to many as “Becky or Beck,” she was born Aug. 1, 1960, in Newport Beach, Calif., and lived a spirited and loving life until April 14, 2025. For 47 years, Rebecca called Webb City, her home, where she filled her days with the simple joys of life, her family, and her beloved dogs.

Rebecca was a devoted wife to her husband, Mike, for 33 years, and a loving mother and grandmother to her daughter Jackie and her husband Brandon; her son, Lil’ Mike and his wife Marilyn; four granddaughters, Maisie, Reegin, Leilynn and Mia; and two granddogs, Luke and Witcher. Rebecca was also a pillar of strength and resilience in their lives. Her career was a testament to her spirit; she started on the powder line at Dyno Nobel, and through determination and hard work, retired as a supervisor of the Shell House after 38 years of service. Her story of professional accomplishment remains an inspiration to many.

In retirement, Rebecca enjoyed her Mustang, doing puzzles, walking her dog, Bo-Duke, fishing with her husband, and swimming in her pool with her grandkids. She loved to cook for her family, and she always made sure no one left hungry. She also enjoyed listening to music and losing herself in the pages of a good book. She cherished her relationships with her brothers, Herbie and Doy, their wives Patsy and Ruth, and her sister Darlene, fondly known as Sissy, and her husband Glenn.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, at Simpson Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 21 at the same venue. (Note from the family: Don’t feel that you have to dress up for her services, she wanted everyone to dress comfortably and casual just like her!)
