Route 66 Movie Theater celebrates 80 years

A ribbon cutting was held Thursday at the Route 66 Movie Theater in honor of the 80th year that the theater has been in business.

As a special nod to history, the same two movies shown 80 years ago, “Cowboy Canteen” (1944) and “Wildfire” (1945), were shown again.

Local historian and theater employee Aiden Chambers presented a video of the theater’s history.
