Sara Rebecca Broaddus (Mahurin), known to many as Becky, lived her life with a loving spirit that was as loyal as it was inspiring. Born on Sept. 15, 1950, in Webb City, Sara’s journey came to a peaceful close at her daughter’s residence in Webb City on April 9, 2026.
Sara devoted her life to her family, making their needs her utmost priority. Sara found joy in traveling, watching her children and grandchildren’s sporting events, and immersing herself in the world of books.
Sara was predeceased by her beloved husband, Stephen Broaddus, whom she married on March 8, 1974; her father, Jimmie Mahurin; and her brother, Mike Mahurin. She leaves behind her loving mother, Virgie Mahurin; her daughters, Melissa (Kenneth) Ginn, Terri (Joe) Walker, and Lori (Harold) Taylor; her siblings, Vikki Bastings and Jack Mahurin; grandchildren, Brittney (Kleber) Alves, Dallis (Michael) Schaetzel, Amanda (William) Vester, Stephen Ginn, Sam (Libbey) Randles, Brooke (George) Datum, Liam Taylor and Laney Taylor; and great-grandchildren, Jack Alves, Gino Alves, Lelan Powers, Elijah Schaetzel, Jackson Vester, Isaac Vester, Charlie Vester, Luke Datum, Hunter Randles, and Riley Randles.
Services are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home.

Danny Dudley, lovingly known as Dapper Dan, passed sway April 2, 2026. Danny touched countless lives with his shining personality, love, and laughter.
He was incredibly talented, pouring his heart into drawing, writing songs, and composing poems that brought joy to those around him.
He is survived by his son, Mike Dudley, Carterville; his daughter, Esena Dudley (Shelly), Joplin; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandson; several nieces and nephews; four brother, Billy Fleming, Purcell, Jeff Fleming, Webb City, David Fleming, Joplin, Brian Fleming, Mountain Grove; three sisters, Linda Paxton, Joplin, Tina Biard, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Patricia Scott, Cabool; and so many friends and his church family.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire kindness and laughter in their lives.
A service was held Wednesday April 15, at Joplin First Church of the Nazarene. Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
Feb. 2, 1995 – April 5, 2026
Justin Keith Fleming, 31, of Joplin, passed away suddenly on April 5, 2026. He was born on Feb. 2, 1995, and lived a life marked by generosity as well as a kind and giving spirit.
Justin was the beloved son of Jeff and Holly Robbins-Fleming, of Webb City. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Karmyn Fleming, and his son, Legacy Fleming, who were among the greatest joys of his life. He is also survived by his sisters, Misty Fleming (Sean Donnelly) and Ashley Graham (Jeremy), all of Overland Park, Kan. He was a cherished grandson of Marion Robbins and Clero Carter. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Tristan Fleming, Keagan Donnelly, Lilly Ann Donnelly, and Makenzie Graham, who brought him much happiness and pride.
Justin graduated from Carl Junction High School in 2013. After high school, he worked several jobs in the Joplin area, where he was known for his willingness to help, his practical skills, and his ability to figure out how to make things work. He had a natural talent for taking things apart and rebuilding them better than before. Justin was very creative and loved making music, art and expressing himself through writing songs and poetry.
Those who knew Justin will remember him as adventurous, handy, and spirited. His passions were fishing, kayaking and all things outdoors, especially reading the Bible each day and spending time with his children.
Though his time on earth was far too short, Justin’s life was filled with love, connection, and moments that will be treasured by those who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his children, his family, and all who were blessed to share in his life.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Parker Mortuary.
March 24, 1962 – April 11, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Juliet Dorcell Hardee, who gracefully departed this life on April 11, 2026, at her residence in Webb City. Born on March 24, 1962, in Joplin, Juliet was a courageous woman, an ambitious spirit, and a compassionate soul who lived a life of resilience.
Juliet was a woman of passionate faith who loved Jesus and preached His love to anyone who would listen, always finding a way to connect with those around her. She traveled and spoke widely, spreading joy and the love of Christ wherever she went. Her compassion for people was the distinguishing characteristic of her life, from her family to her vast circle of friends, and the impact of her ministry was felt by all who knew her.
In 2011, Juliet was the first person in her family to graduate college, and she received the Outstanding Alumni Award from Ozark Christian College in 2026. She devoted her life to the service of women recovering from addiction and abuse, and founded Guiding Light Ministries nearly 20 years ago. Juliet had the opportunity to change the lives of over 4,000 women through the work of this ministry, and in recent years she began a second ministry called Sewing Kindness in Kenya to give education and employment to widows. She loved to travel to Africa and thought of Kenya as her second home, spending time working and ministering there as often as she was able.
Juliet was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Helen Hardee; and her son, Brayden Hardee. She is survived by her son, Theron (Emily) Hardee, and their children, Nolan, Brayden and Eleanor Hardee.
A visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Ozark Christian College. The funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2026, at the same venue. A private graveside service will follow.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Juliet Hardee Memorial Scholarship at Ozark Christian College, in care of Simpson Funeral Home.
Jan. 1, 1934 – April 8, 2026
Byron Sisk, age 92, of Joplin, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Jan. 1, 1934, in Vienna, Mo., to his parents, Utah and Virgie Sisk.
Following his graduation from Carterville High School in 1954, Byron enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he honorably served as a large vehicle mechanic from Aug. 8, 1956, to Aug. 8, 1958.
On Jan. 21, 1964, in Carterville, he married Linda Yeager, the love of his life, and together they shared 62 remarkable years building a cherished life.
Byron retired from ICI Explosives in 1998 after 27 years of dedicated service. He found great joy in camping, fishing, boating, and traveling in his RV. And he was a passionate bowler. Gifted with a mechanical aptitude, he was known for his ability to repair nearly anything with moving parts.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Sisk; his daughter, Deanna Burns and her husband Kevin, of Joplin; two grandsons, Matthew Ervin and Nathan Ervin, of Webb City; two step-grandsons, Jacob Burns and Zachary Burns, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one sister, Catherine “Kitty” Reynolds, of Carterville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Utah and Virgie Sisk; 11 siblings; and one son, Mark Sisk.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2026, at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
