Scholarship program, in its 37th year, surpasses $1M threshold as it provides $71,800 to this year's graduates

On May 1, Webb City High School continued a long tradition by recognizing members of the Class of 2023 for their educational accomplishments.

This event enabled the district, members of the community, and representatives from numerous colleges and universities to award 420 scholarships to graduates.

Of those, 196 were awarded through the local Webb City Schools District Scholarship program that began in 1986, which has now awarded over $1,085,000 to graduating seniors.

The 2023 graduates received scholarships through this program alone totaling $71,850. In addition to the named scholarships that are a part of the program, all cum laude graduates receive $250 scholarships.

Scholarships in the name of retirees and distinguished citizens also come through the program.

More information about the program and the Webb City Schools Foundation is available on the Webb City R-7 School district website. The phone number is (417) 673-6000.
