Since they met late in June, it wasn’t surprising that members of the Webb City R-7 Board of Education didn’t have much on their agenda on Tuesday.
Superintendent Brenten Byrd informed them that the Webb City Council on Monday had voted to name a portion of North Madison Street in honor of former superintendent Ron Lankford.
Ronald L. Lankford Way will be honorary, extending from the entrance to the bus barn past the Central Office, high school, Cardinal Dome and Cardinal Stadium to Stadium Drive. Addresses on Madison Street will not change.
Byrd said a ceremony may be held once the two signs (northbound and southbound) are installed by the city.

The board also:
• Accepted the resignations of the Doennigs, who are moving to Florida after being with the district for 13 years. Andrew Doennig will establish the baseball program at a new high school. In addition to being the baseball coach here, he taught business and was an assistant football coach. Amy Doennig has taught high school math.
• Accepted the resignation of Sierra Jacques, a third-grade teacher at Mark Twain Elementary School for the past two years.
• Was informed that resurfacing of the track at Cardinal Stadium is finished. That was one of the few major jobs done this year because of cost-cutting.
• Performed the annual task of setting the tuition rate for out-of-district students. It is going up from $10,330 to $10,417.
• Scheduled the annual levy hearing for 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, at the Student Services Center. The board’s regular August board meeting will follow.
