Southwest Missouri Bank officially opened its new Oronogo branch bank Wednesday on the southwest corner of Highway 96 and Route D.
Craig Tankersley, SMB president and CEO, admitted it took longer than anticipated to build the facility. It was in the fall of 2020 when the land was cleared.
Kyle Allen is the branch manager.
Celebrating the opening were five chambers of commerce: Webb City, Joplin, Carl Junction, Carthage and Neosho.
The Oronogo branch is the 11th full-service bank for SMB, which was established in 1979.
“The communities are our future,” said Tankersley. “We like being part of our communities and helping them succeed.”
SMB is becoming a big part of Oronogo by constructing a community building to the south of the bank.
