The Joplin Humane Society has a Valentine’s Day idea to promote the sponsorship of shelter animals.
If you go to the website you can pick a pet to sponsor in the name of your Valentine. A card will be sent to your Valentine with a photo of the pet you’re sponsoring.
How it works:
Want to deliver it yourself? The card will be left blank at the front desk for you to pick up and sign.
Auditions for “The Odd Couple, Female Version” by Neil Simon will be held at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 3 and 4, at Joplin Little Theatre.
Shelly Dunn, the director, is looking for a cast of eight to six women and two men. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script of the play.
Unger and Madison are at it again! Florence Unger and Olive Madison, that is, in Neil Simon’s hilarious contemporary comic classic: the female version of “The Odd Couple.” Instead of the poker party that begins the original version, Ms. Madison has invited the girls over for an evening of Trivial Pursuit. The Pidgeon sisters have been replaced by the two Constanzuela brothers. But the hilarity remains the same.
Performance dates are March 26 – 30, 2025.
For more information, call the Joplin Little Theatre at (417) 623-3638 during office hours – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
