There will be two attractions Saturday, Nov. 4, at the New Hope Church of Carl Junction’s annual Lord’s Acre event.
Go early for supper and stay for the auction.
Homemade noodles with chicken, ham, rolls, vegetables, dessert and drink will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. to adults for $10 and children 12 and under for $5.
At 7:30 p.m., Cindy Herr will auction handcrafts, needlework and baked goods.
New Hope is at 27013 Kafir Road, Carl Junction. From the junction of Highways 43 and 96, go 2 miles west to County Road 270 and then a mile north.
Sacred Heart Catholic Church will host their 74th Annual Turkey Dinner and Silent Auction on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 4 and 5.
Turkey, dressing and all the fixings will be served for $10 to adults and $5 to kids. Dine-in and carryout will both be available.
Hours are from 12 noon to 7 p.m. Saturday, and 12 noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
“After hosting this event for 70 years, we know how to please our guests – with great food and great fellowship!” says parishioner Emily Elwell.

The Webb City American Legion and VFW posts invite all veterans, law enforcement, firefighters and other first responders, along with their families, to enjoy a free breakfast Sunday.
Serving will be from 7 to 11 a.m.
The post is located at 900 N. Main St. Members are also planning to prepare the annual Thanksgiving Dinner on Sunday, Nov. 19, for everyone in the Webb City R-7 School District.
The Joplin Association for the Blind will hold its annual Chili & Veggie Soup Fundraiser, with silent auction and 50/50 drawing, on Thursday, Nov. 9.
Serving will be in two sessions, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.
The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for kids. Desserts will be available, along with pecan halves, pecan pieces, chocolate covered pecans and English walnuts.
The Joplin Association for the Blind and Low Vision Enhancement Center, located at 311 S. Schifferdecker Ave., is observing its 100th anniversary.
