Sacred Heart’s 72nd annual Turkey Dinner

Sacred Heart Catholic Church will hold its 72nd annual turkey dinner, silent auction this weekend.

The dinner begins at noon each day and will be available – carry-out only – until 7 p.m. Saturday and 5 p.m. Sunday. It includes turkey, dressing and all the fixings for just $9 for adults and $4 for kids.

New Hope Lord’s Acre Supper

New Hope United Methodist Church will hold its annual Lord’s Acre Supper and Auction Saturday at the church.

Meals, featuring homemade noodles with chicken, ham, vegetables, hot roll, dessert and beverage, will be served from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Take-away meals are also an option this year.

The meal is free, but donations are welcome to support local charities.

When the supper is over at 7 p.m., Cindy Herr will auction donated articles, hand crafted miscellany and homemade food items.

Pastor Randy Steele invites the public to attend and emphasizes all proceeds will support local charities.

New Hope is located at 12188 County Road 270 (on the corner of Kafir Road, 2 miles west and 1 mile north of the junction of Highways 43 and 96.

Texas Roadhouse meal voucher for vets

Texas Roadhouse will express appreciation of veterans and active military on Veterans Day with meal vouchers.

The vouchers (not actual meals) will be handed out from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, in the parking lot of Texas Roadhouse, 3317 S. Range Line Road, Joplin.

The vouchers can be redeemed as soon as the restaurant opens for dinner the same day or through the validation period, which lasts until May 30, 2022.

Proof of service, including a military or VA card, or discharge papers, is required.

Vouchers can be redeemed for one of 10 entrees, such as a 6-ounce sirloin and two sides plus soft drink or coffee.
