Veterans honored for their service during the annual Wreaths Across America

All 1,200 veterans laid to rest in Mt. Hope Cemetery were honored with a wreath Saturday during the annual Wreaths Across America.

After a ceremony (in less-than-perfect weather as usual), veterans’ families, Army and Air Force JROTC cadets from Webb City and Carl Junction, and veterans organizations laid the wreaths, fresh from Maine, at the grave of every veteran.

If you missed purchasing a wreath this year, they are already available for the 2026 ceremony.

Organizer Susie Crutcher (right) hands out wreaths to families, while boxes of wreaths are dispersed throughout the cemetery.
