Webb City junior Violet Haut won her first high school golf tournament Monday, with a score of 78 at Carthage.
“Violet is having a spectacular year,” says her coach, Jason Brown.
On Thursday, she finished sixth at Ozark’s Fremont Hills tournament, shooting a 77, her personal record.
“Violet has been to the state tournament twice already, in her freshmen and sophomore years, and has been working tirelessly on her game in the off season,” says Brown.
She led most of the day at Carthage and “stayed diligent and focused throughout, while contenders were right on her tail. She finished her day with a birdie on hole 4 to solidify her win.”
Marlee Jacks and Kenzi Reavis also had personal records today at Carthage.
Lilly Reavis and Josie Tupper round out the varsity squad, even though they had no prior varsity experience coming into this year.
“All of these girls have come a long way from the start of the season and continue to work hard at dropping strokes,” says Brown. “I’m very proud of Violet’s win today and all of our girls work ethic and attitude in what can be a very frustrating game to play.”
