Webb City volleyball improved to 8-3-1 with a 3-0 win Tuesday at Springfield Central.
That followed the Cardinals’ second-place finish Saturday at the Hillcrest tournament. Their championship match was a 2-1 loss against the Lebanon Yellowjackets, who they had just beaten here 3-0 on Thursday.
In their bracket, they defeated Waynesville, Branson and Willard and tied Logan Rogersville. They defeated Camdenton 2-1 in the semifinal.
Jaeli Rutledge led the offense with 54 kills. Avery Gardner logged 43 digs, and Savannah Crane had 138 assists.
Two home games are up next on the schedule. Glendale will be here Thursday, followed by Mt. Vernon on Tuesday. Then the Cardinals will travel to Kickapoo on Tuesday.
The Webb City softball Cardinals claimed their sixth win in a row Tuesday to go 10-1 for the season as the Cardinals defeated visiting Glendale 9-0.
Up next for the Cardinals will be a trip Thursday to Kickapoo, followed by the Park Hill tournament of Friday and Saturday, and two away games – Nevada on Monday and Republic on Tuesday. The next home game will be against Carthage on Thursday, Sept. 26.
