Webb City improved to an 11-3-1 record this past week with wins against Glendale, Mt. Vernon and Kickapoo. Out of 11 sets, Webb City only lost one, to Mt. Vernon here Monday night.
After visiting Republic Thursday, the Cardinals will compete Saturday in the Carl Junction tournament. The host Bulldogs are 11-0. Carthage will be here Tuesday.
Webb City softball (11-5) dropped a couple of tough games this week and takes on 14-8 Carthage here Thursday, Sept. 26.
First, at the Park Hill tournament on Saturday, Webb City lost to the host Pirates 0-2 and defeated St. Pius X (Festus) 12-2.
Monday’s game at Nevada turned into a home game instead because of wet field conditions up north. The 14-3 Tigers prevailed 2-1. At Republic (13-6) on Tuesday, the Cardinals lost 5-3.
On Friday and Saturday, the Cardinals will compete in the Warrensburg tournament. And then they’ll be at Willard on Tuesday.
