The Webb City High School Class of 2024 was celebrated during commencement Friday on a beautiful night in Cardinal Stadium.
The names of approximately 300 graduates were announced as they were congratulated by favorite staff members, School Board members and administrators.
Trevor Peterson and Zachary Stump gave speeches as representatives of those graduating summa cum laude.
Other graduates speaking were Ella Hensley, Avery Mitchell and Allie Eggleston.
Principal Jeff Wilkie presented the class, while it was the last WCHS commencement for Tony Rossetti as superintendent, since his retirement will become official on June 30.
After the graduates sang the alma mater, there was a countdown for them to throw their caps.
As the recessional was played, the stadium resembled the aftermath of a triumphant football game as families came down to the field to congratulate the graduates and pose for group photos.
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
