Webb City Little League baseball and softball teams advance to state

Webb City ball teams have dominated the district tournaments and are now advancing en masse to compete at the state level.

Tearson Smotherman, president of Webb City Softball Little League, reports the 14u junior league team will play at Marshall beginning Saturday for the state title.

Next week, Webb City’s 10u Little League softball team will go to Columbia, and the 12u team will be at Concordia.

Four Little League baseball teams will be playing July 20-23, according to James Renfro, league president.

The 9u and 12u teams will be at Columbia, while the 10u team will be in the St. Louis area, and the 11u team will be at Concordia.

All teams are made up of all-star players selected from the Webb City Parks and Recreation teams.
