Webb City musicians earn all-state concert and jazz band recognition
Six Webb City High School students have received all-state recognition in concert band and jazz band.
In the All-State Concert Band: freshman Ella Dodd was 13th chair clarinet, and junior Daniel Roy was second chair honorable mention trumpet.
In the All-State Jazz Band: senior Nick Smith was honorable mention bass trombone; freshman Ella Dodd was first honorable mention alto saxophone; junior Connor Peterson was alternate baritone saxophone, and junior Daniel Roy was alternate lead trumpet.
Band director Butch Owens says there will be a spring band concert, with an audience, but the date hasn’t been set yet.
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
