23:30 – The Webb City Police Department’s Drug recognition expert officer was dispatched to WCPD to conduct a DRE evaluation for Jasper County Sheriff’s Department.
Friday, May 31
19:10 – Officers responded to Waffle House, 1208 S. Madison St., for a hit-and-run accident.
Saturday, June 1
09:59 – Officers were dispatched to Walmart for a shoplifting in progress. An 18-year-old male was taken into custody for shoplifting.
17:54 – An officer was dispatched to 25 S. Hall St. in reference to a past-tense theft.
20:21 – I was dispatched to 1214 W. Seventh St. in reference to property damage.
20:42 – Officers responded to a department assist in reference to a sexual assault that occurred in Webb city but was reported in Joplin. A report was generated and the child abuse hot line was notified.
23:05 – An officer took a report of an individual who had been kidnapped and a moped that had been stolen. After investigation, it turned out the kidnapping was unfounded.
Sunday, June 2
09:34 – Officers were dispatched to 14th and Madison streets for a motor vehicle crash with fluids leaking and blocking the roadway.
10:36 – I was dispatched to 908 W. Daugherty St. for found items, which were collected and later put into evidence for safekeeping.
12:02 – Officers were dispatched to 606 N. Pennsylvania St. for a past-tense assault.
17:01 – Officers were dispatched to Walmart for a shoplifting in progress. A 24-year-old male was arrested for shoplifting.
23:59 – I was dispatched to the 800 block of Horseshoe Drive in reference to a runaway.
Monday, June 3
01:42 – I was dispatched to the 300 block of N Pennsylvania St. in reference to a 16-year-old male wanting to harm himself. He was taken for a mental evaluation, and the incident was hotlined.
07:41 – I received a call for service at 324 N. Tom St. in reference to threats.
11:46 – Officers were dispatched to a crash at the roundabout.
17:14 – Officers were dispatched to 324 N. Tom St., reference a past-tense theft.
17:33 – Officers were dispatched to Wilson and Central streets, reference a suspicious person. A juvenile male was transported to the juvenile office for disturbing the peace and resisting.
Tuesday, June 4
00:07 – I attempted a traffic stop near Madison and Eighth streets when the vehicle fled and led officers on a short pursuit. The driver ended up coming to a stop and charges were sent to the juvenile office.
05:51 – I was dispatched to the 800 block of W. Austin St. in reference to a property damage.
06:57 – Officers were dispatched to 721 N. Ball St. reference a past-tense theft.
17:26 – I received a call for service at MacArthur and Powell drives in reference to a motor vehicle accident.
Wednesday, June 5
00:01 – I took a report for a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Madison Street and MacArthur Drive. A 25-year-old male was issued citations for leaving the scene of an accident and no operator’s license.
13:48 – Officers were called to Del Rio Cafe, 1801 N Range Line Road, for a theft and assault. Suspects have been identified and charges have been filed.
13:48 – Officers were dispatched to 3100 E. Zora St. for a located stolen vehicle, which was turned over to the owner.
15:00 – An officer was dispatched to WCPD for an incident involving an employee at the Missouri Probation Office, 1919 N. Range Line Road.
20:57 – An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near Eighth and Madison streets for expired tags. A 30-year-old male was arrested for warrants.
Thursday, June 6
13:12 – I was contacted at WCPD for a possible past-tense theft at 1100 W. Crow St. #5.
15:20 – Officers were dispatched to 202 S. Hall St. for someone brandishing a weapon. Charges were filed.
Friday, June 7
13:44 – An officer was dispatched to Walmart in reference to a fraudulent check that was passed at the store. Suspect information was gathered and distributed.
15:25 – I was dispatched to K&D Auto Sales, 825 W MacArthur Drive for theft of property.
16:44 – Officers were dispatched to Fourth and Jefferson streets reference found property.
17:09 – Officers were dispatched to 1207 Nelson St. in reference to a violation of a protective order. One 41-year-old male was arrested.
Saturday, June 8
02:00 – I stopped a vehicle for speeding at MacArthur Drive and College Street. A 26-year-old male was arrested for DWI, driving while revoked, resisting and speeding.
08:16 – I was contacted at WCPD in reference to a bicycle theft at 531 N. Hall St.
11:39 – An officer was dispatched to Hall and Zora streets in reference to a non-injury crash.
12:08 – Officers were dispatched to Walmart reference a physical domestic that had just occurred. A 32-year-old male was arrested.
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
