The Missouri Highway Patrol reports a fatality accident occurred Thursday morning, Aug. 13, 2026, south of Oronogo.
According to the report, a northbound black Chevrolet Silverado on County Road 230 crossed the center line and overturned as it ran off the left side of the road. The victim, Charles H. Clark, 36, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
The time of the accident is unknown. It was reported at 7:22 a.m. The site was just south of Center Creek. County Road 230 was closed during the investigation.
Troop D has reported 80 fatalities in 2026, while 402 were recorded statewide through the first half of the year.

23:37 – An officer conducted a traffic stop at Madison Street and Broadway for stop sign violations. A 41-year-old female was arrested for DWI-drugs.
Sunday, Aug. 9
02:41 – Officers were dispatched to 1006 W. First St. in reference to a domestic disturbance. Charges will be sent to the municipal prosecutor for review.
21:33 – An officer conducted a traffic stop at Main Street and MacArthur Drive for lane violations. A 25-year-old male was arrested for DWI.
Monday, Aug. 10
02:01 – An officer observed a male being suspicious behind the Starbucks at 1062 W. 14th St. A 33-year-old male was taken into custody for an active ATF warrant. Charges for resisting, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia will be submitted to the Jasper County Prosecutor’s Office for further review.
06:32 – I was dispatched to 623 N. Tom St. for a report of property damage and theft. The victim stated someone broke into her car and stole her wallet.
07:00 – I was dispatched to 615 N. Tom St. for a report of property damage. The victim stated someone broke into her car, damaged the steering column and attempted to steal it.
07:07 – I received a call for service at 624 N. Walker St. in reference to a theft from a motor vehicle.
10:45 – I was dispatched to 619 N. Tom St. for a report of property damage. The victim stated someone shattered the rear window of her Toyota SUV.
11:03 – An officer was dispatched to Atwood’s in reference to a past-tense shoplifting.
11:32 – I received a call for service at Jefferson Street and MacArthur Drive in reference to a motor vehicle accident.
12:44 – I received a call for service at the City Pointe parking lot in reference to a leaving-the-scene accident.
15:41 – I was dispatched to the lobby for an identity theft in the 700 block of Wickersham Drive. The victim reported someone used his personal information to obtain accounts and merchandise from AT&T Wireless.
18:20 – An officer was on patrol at Main and Second streets when a green Ford van with license plate violations was observed. A traffic stop was conducted at Casey’s, 337 S Main St., where one male was taken into custody for driving while revoked and resisting arrest.
Tuesday, Aug. 11
10:51 – Officers were dispatched to Eighth and Madison streets for a hit-and-run.
14:03 – An officer was dispatched to the 1100 block of Woodland Drive for a suspicious activity.
17:22 – I received a call for service at 7 Brew Coffee, 1312 S. Madison St., in reference to a motor vehicle accident.
18:30 – Officers were dispatched to Third and Jefferson streets for a crash that occurred at Madison Street and Broadway.
Wednesday, Aug. 12
01:39 – Officers responded to a disturbance in progress in the 300 block of S. College St. One juvenile female was taken to the Jasper County Juvenile Office for stealing.
13:33 – An officer was dispatched to City Hall, 200 S. Main St., in reference to someone being there with a warrant. A male was taken into custody for an outstanding Joplin warrant.
15:57 – An officer was dispatched to WCPD for reports of a sexual assault that took place in June at an address in Webb City.
16:02 – I was dispatched to 4563-A E. Zora St. for a report of domestic violence.
17:08 – I was dispatched to 1011 S. Jefferson St. for a report of a leaving-the-scene motor vehicle accident.
22:06 – An officer was dispatched to 1711-3B Redwood Drive for property damage.
Thursday, Aug. 13
01:05 – An officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of MacArthur and Colonial drives. A 31-year-old female was taken into custody for driving while suspended.
07:06 – Officers were dispatched to 1414 Nelson St. in reference to suspicious activity. One female was taken into custody for outstanding Webb City warrants.
08:18 – An officer was dispatched to the 300 block of S. College St. in reference to a runaway juvenile, who was located and transported to the Jasper County Juvenile Office.
09:00 – I took a report of theft from a trailer parked in the alley behind 25 S. Main St. Several copper plumbing items were stolen from the locked trailer.
16:11 – Officers were dispatched to 702 N. Hall St. for a subject at the location with a gun making threats to harm everyone. The subject left prior to the officers’ arrival. A female was treated for being hit in the face. The suspect is being sought.
16:22 – An officer was dispatched to MacArthur Drive and Centennial Street in reference to a two-vehicle crash with no reported injuries.
19:18 – Officers were dispatched Walmart in reference to property damage.
19:31 – Officers responded to the 800 block of N East St. for threats. A 36-year-old male was taken for a 96-hour hold.
Friday, Aug. 14
06:42 – I arrived at 26 S. Liberty St. for a report of property damage. The victim reported someone entered her Kia Sorento, damaged the steering column and ignition, and tried to steal her car.
06:42 – I was contacted at Main and Galena streets in reference to damage to a vehicle by rocks hitting the vehicle after a water main break.
08:45 – An officer was dispatched to the 700 block of S. Walker St. for a verbal domestic dispute. A 35-year-old female was taken into custody for a Joplin warrant.
12:51 – I was dispatched to MacArthur Drive and Hall Street for a two-vehicle, non-injury crash.
17:17 – Officers were dispatched to the Webb City Jail for a wanted person. A 35-year-old female was arrested on warrants.
19:51 – Officers responded to a disturbance in progress at Oak Ridge Shopping Center, 1502 S. Madison St.
Saturday, Aug. 15
07:17 – An officer was dispatched to the 100 block of N. Main St. for property damage.
13:08 – Officers received a call for service at King Jack Park in reference to male smoking marijuana in the park in the area around the splash pad with children present. A male was subsequently charged with smoking marijuana in a public place.
21:15 – Officers were dispatched to 1723-85 Redwood Drive in reference to a domestic in progress. The suspect briefly fled from officers in a vehicle but ultimately stopped and was taken into custody. One adult male was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, felony resisting arrest, domestic assault, burglary 1st and driving while revoked.
