Saturday, May 20
16:45 – I was westbound on Zora Street from Wellington Street when a black passenger vehicle that was eastbound swerved across the center line and into my lane and then swerved back nearly colliding with my patrol vehicle. A 59-year-old male was arrested for DWI, driving while suspended and failure to comply with interlock order.
17:39 – Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of W. Daugherty St. for an overdose. One female was transported to Freeman Hospital for a civil commit.
20:20 – Officers responded to 202 S. Tom St. for harassment.
22:15 – Officers were dispatched to 660 E. Daugherty St. for a well-being check. One female was arrested for felony driving while intoxicated, driving while revoked, and multiple warrants.
23:45 – Officers responded to 908 W. Daugherty St. in reference to a dumpster fire. The fire appeared to be intentionally started.
Sunday, May 21
02:02 – Officers were dispatched to 1605 S. Ellis St. Apt. 252 for a disturbance. A 32-year-old male was arrested for domestic assault and assault.
08:00 – I took a found item report. The item was found at WCPD.
09:14 – I was dispatched to 1331 W. Fifth St. for a past-tense theft.
15:25 – An officer made a traffic stop near the intersection of East and Aylor streets in reference to a traffic violation. The 26-year-old male driver was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
15:36 – I was dispatched to 404 Ware St. for a past-tense fraud/theft.
Monday, May 22
10:22 – I was contacted at 211 W. Broadway in reference to property damage at 601 N. Madison St.
11:26 – Officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash at Powell and MacArthur drives.
11:47 – I was contacted at WCPD in reference to an order of protection violation at 327 S. Webb St.
13:10 – I received a call for service at Prairie Flower Road and Logan Street in reference to a motor vehicle accident.
15:46 – I received a call for service at 920 W. Fourth St. in reference to found property.
22:56 – I was dispatched to Zora and Hall streets in reference a two-vehicle non-injury accident.
Tuesday, May 23
09:48 – Officers were dispatched to Murphy USA in reference to a suspicious person. One 39-year-old male was arrested for drinking alcohol where prohibited (public places).
10:48 – On 05-23-2023 at 1048 hours, an officer was dispatched to 1919 N. Range Line (Probation and Parole) in reference to a subject at that location with warrants for their arrest. As a result, one 27-year-old white female was arrested for outstanding warrants for her arrest.
14:59 – Officers were dispatched to an unknown injury crash in the 300 block of N. Tom St. It was found to be non-injury.
15:20 – Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of S. Jefferson St., reference an 18-year-old male subject that was wanted in connection with a crime in Newton County.
20:12 – I observed a subject with multiple felony warrants for his arrest enter his residence at 610 N. Main St. The subject refused to exit and the Webb City Special Response Team was called out along with Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, Oronogo and Carterville. Chemical munitions were entered into the residence and the adult male was taken into custody without further incident. Two other adult females were taken into custody for outstanding warrants.
15:52 –Officers were observing westbound traffic on MacArthur Drive near the intersection of Main Street for a reported stolen vehicle that was approaching the area. The vehicle, a gold 1997 Honda Accord, was located and eventually stopped near MacArthur and Oakland. The 40-year-old male driver was taken into custody by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office for their stolen vehicle investigation, and he was also cited through Webb City court for driving while revoked and other traffic violations.
10:38 – Officers were on general patrol in the area of Devon and Vine streets, when they located a juvenile male sitting in the roadway. Guardians were located and a DFS hotline was completed.
Wednesday, May 24
08:43 – I was dispatched to WCPD for a report of a violation of a protection order. The victim reported his estranged wife had been attempting to contact him by telephone at 327 S. Webb St.
11:50 – Officers conducted a traffic stop at Main and Church streets. One female was arrested for driving while suspended.
13:27 – I was dispatched to 402 S. Jefferson St. for a found item.
14:06 – I was dispatched to 416 N. Washington St. as the possible location of a missing person. The person was later found at another location. Family picked the subject up.
14:54 – Officers were dispatched to an injury accident at Fourth and Oronogo streets.
20:51 – Officers were dispatched to 1462 S. Madison St. for found property.
Thursday, May 25
08:26 – I was dispatched to 2317 S. Hall St. for a suspicious vehicle. Officers started looking into the vehicle, the owner of the vehicle, and his home, and found more suspicious activity. Other agencies were called to assist. The vehicle owner was later found safe and fine after conducting a search and follow up to his location.
13:19 – I was dispatched to 727 W. Broadway for a past-tense theft.
13:27 – I was dispatched to Cottonwood Drive and Elm Court in reference to property damage.
21:38 – Officers were dispatched to 409 N. Webb St. in reference to a disturbance.
Friday, May 26
10:56 – Officers were on general patrol near Madison Street and MacArthur Drive when they observed a white Cadillac CTS failing to bare a license plate. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made. A 42-year-old male was arrested for driving while revoked.
12:16 – I was dispatched to 1515 W. Broadway in reference to a trespassing report. I completed an incident report and forwarded information to the municipal prosecutor.
12:28 – I was dispatched to the station in reference to a theft. The victim reported several locations, including 417 S. Main, where her stolen credit card was used to make purchases. A report of fraudulent use of a credit card was taken.
16:30 – I stopped a vehicle for failing to obey a traffic control device. A male was subsequently arrested for a Carthage city warrant.
17:05 – I was dispatched for a report of trespassing at 423 S. Centennial St.
20:49 – I was dispatched to a disturbance in progress at McDonald’s, 410 S. Madison St. A subject was taken into custody for trespassing.
22:08 – I was dispatched to WCPD for a past-tense assault that occurred at 501 S. Ellis St. The subject was arrested for warrants and cited for assault.
22:20 – An officer conducted a traffic stop at Main and Arch streets for equipment violation. The 18-year-old male driver was cited for expired drivers license and arrested on a Jasper County warrant.
23:03 – An officer made contact with a 17-year-old female, who was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Saturday, May 27
00:44 – An officer was dispatched to WCPD in reference to two subjects who had been transported from Joplin City jail to our facility. The two male subjects were brought to our facility because they had active warrants out of our agency.
09:16 – I was dispatched to a two vehicle, non-injury, vehicle crash near the intersection of Tom and Tracy streets.
18:05 – Officers were dispatched to 1815 S. Oronogo St. in reference to a trespass in progress. One adult female was taken into custody for trespassing and drug paraphernalia.
The Webb City Sentinel isn’t a newspaper – but it used to be, serving Webb City, Missouri, in print from 1879-2020. This “newspaper” seeks to carry on that tradition as a nonprofit corporation.
